Fringe World for those who don’t know, is an annual event with 700 acts, around 138 venues and performance spaces over 31 days from January 19th.

The Monday Night Markets has a selection of artists and performers that fit the markets vibe perfectly; from a nine-piece Soul band to pirate fun for the kids. The free family event, aims to support the artists of Perth’s Fringe World Festival, including WA’s‘Homegrown Heroes’ – talented local artists and performers.

There’s musical variety in the form of the amazing nine-piece Milford Street Shakers with a live showcase from its Soul Slap! performance. Forever in my Life is a tribute to performer Prince which will feature a taster of songs, stories and musings with renowned Fringe artist Michael Wheatley. Even more Soul music comes in the form of Movin’ Melvin Brown’s, 50s 60s Black Soul music plus tap dancing. For a different take on Swing and Soul, try Swing Salad! If you’ve got a guilty food indulgence? (HELLO? We’re a rather awesome food-focussed market!) Swing Salad has too, and they want to sing about them to you! And if you prefer the Blues, well maybe some ‘blue’ topics, then listen out for comedy rock legends, PickUp. With a taster of their comedy show revolving around music, comedy and sex. Don’t worry parents, the show has been modified to suit our audiences. Of course you can always see their full show for the ‘Full Monty’!

While unicorns Skyla and Felicity take children on an enchanted, magical journey to try and find their very own unicorn friend in the ever popular How to Catch a Unicorn and A Princess Dream.

We also have the opportunity to meet some snakes and lizards at Fr’Inglewood. Come and meet Cass and her friends at her taster show of A Snake’s Tale. Parents of children of a certain age may well recognise Jango from Hoopla Doopla, yes Mr.Gørski is coming to Fr’Inglewood too!

Pirates!! takes groups of children on an imaginary adventure in search of treasure while seamlessly integrating the children’s input into the plot. Join Pirate Captains, Boots and Redbeard for the experience! It seriously cannot get any more entertaining can it?!

Want to see the funny side of Fringe World? That’s covered too! For fun, circus entertainment try YUCK! Circus – a powerhouse of female circus performers using high-flying acrobatics combined with comedy and dance.

And for those looking for a serious Monday night laugh – I can make you Irish,  stand-up comedy from award winning comic Mary Bourke presents a hilarious show on what it means to be ‘authentically Irish’.

A brilliant show not to be missed is the amazing Tom GK: a music critic who has a degenerative hearing disease who has written a musical about hearing. Finishing up our comedy line-up is the simply brilliant Opposites AttractJoin Atomic Silva and Gold Fusion as they play humorously on their differences to explore the playful and profound importance of diversity in the world of science, technology, engineering and maths.

Not finished yet! We also are thrilled to be able to bring you some roving acts around the market in the form of Patti the Pig and CirQuest. Look out for them on certain nights.
